Dani Larkin's release comes ahead of her March 13th date at Vicar Street, supporting Declan O'Rourke.
Dani Larkin has returned with a new EP, Between Worlds, in collaboration with The Ulster Orchestra.
The three-track release are orchestral re-recordings of songs from Dani's debut album, Notes For A Maiden Warrior: 'Love Part Three,' 'Samson and Goliath' and 'The Red, Macha's Return.'
"Between Worlds explores three primary aspects of the Notes For A Maiden Warrior album in an entirely new way," said Larkin in a statement.
"This collaboration with The Ulster Orchestra has added an additional layer of depth to well-known songs such as 'Samson and Goliath' and 'Love Part Three' while complimenting the mythological aspect of 'The Red, Maca's Return.' To perform these tracks live with The Ulster Orchestra brings a certain kind of magic and breath in a way that only a live recording with over forty musicians can."
After the release of her debut, Larkin quickly established themselves as an up and coming force in the indie folk world. Notes For A Maiden Warrior secured nominations for Best Album from the Northern Ireland Music Prize, and Best Emerging Artist at the RTE Folk Awards.

“Our Salon Sessions are all about the Orchestra forming new collaborations with artists who have great stories to tell, and about giving them the space with our musicians to do that. We were delighted that Dani was happy to work with us on new versions of familiar songs, and the results are fantastic," said Patrick McCarthy of the Ulster Orchestra.
Known for their delicate lyricism, which weaves together Celtic folklore of old with modern day thoughts and experiences, alongside gifted instrumental skills; Larkin has become renowned for her live performances. The Armagh-Monaghan native will be heading out on a world tour, with several festival dates including SXSW in Texas, and CelticFest in Vancouver. Larkin will also be supporting Declan O'Rourke on several Irish dates, including one at Vicar St. on March 13th.
