Guinness' admirers include David Bowie and Lady Gaga.
Fashion designer and recording artist Daphne Guinness has released her latest single ‘Hip Neck Spine’.
The disco-tinged track, recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, features a string section from renowned producer Tony Visconti and an accompanying music video created by Nick Knight.
“When I first heard ‘Hip Neck Spine’ I felt it was a very modern vision but based in futuristic visions from the past,” said Knight, commenting on the thought process behind the video.
“We worked with Daphne's unique and incredible fashion collection to film over 25 iconic looks from great designers such as Alexander McQueen, Chanel and Azzedine Alaïa, all transformative looks creating Daphne a different character for each section of the song,” he added.
Guinness’ admirers include icons such as the David Bowie and Lady Gaga. She has recently appeared as a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.

The artists already be familiar to some for her work in fashion, however she had started life in music as a teenager with a place at Guildhall Music School in London.
Following the deaths of close friends and fellow designers Alexander McQueen and Isabella Blow, she returned to making music as a means of processing her loss.
Guinness has since released three Visconti-produced albums, the most recent of which, Revelations, was released in 2020.
“I always put my whole being into everything I do, but in this case, I needed to use my body as well as my voice,” said Guinness. “‘Hip Neck Spine’ emerged in two takes - it’s a call to have a good time, engaging the body and the beat.”
