Northern Irish act ROE is back with her first single of 2022, following her collaboration with Ciaran Lavery on 'Too much for anyone' and 'Destroyer'.
Derry artist ROE is back with a bang, throwing down the gauntlet with new indie-pop number 'I Dare You'.
The acclaimed 21-year-old multi-instrumentalist has been making serious waves with her unique brand of self-styled ‘grumpy electro pop’. She performed the Snow Patrol album Final Straw with Gary Lightbody and Rossborough as part of a special live-streamed gig in 2020, and returned with debut EP Things We Don't Talk About in August that year.
ROE also performed 'I Can't Be With You' on The Late Late Show last November for the release of compilation album For Salvation: Inspired By The Cranberries in aid of Pieta House. After 2021’s success with ‘Cruel’ which saw her on the BBC Radio 1 playlist, and a fruitful collaboration with fellow Northern Irish songwriter, Ciaran Lavery on ‘Destroyer’, ROE is now throwing down the gauntlet with her first single of 2022: ‘I Dare You’.
A driving indie-pop anthem marked with a trademark huge chorus and trumpet fanfares, ‘I Dare You’ cements ROEs new brand of "existential indie-pop” and lays down a rock solid foundation for her biggest year to date.

“The inevitable drives between shows and home are so ridiculous and difficult and new every time," ROE explains. "This song is about every unpredictable emotion that stems from adrenaline and exhaustion on the road and the parts of our lives as musicians that nobody ever gets to see."
