Solo will get a stand-alone.
In a recent interview with Variety, Star Wars producer Kathleen Kennedy outlined plans for the Han Solo movie, which will differ in tone and style from Rogue One and saga stories like The Force Awakens.
“There are other stories that we can tell in that same transportive and transcendent spirit. Going forward, you’re going to see movies that shift tonally, some that are grittier and tougher, and some more comedic in nature," says Kennedy.
"This moves closer to a heist or Western type feel. We’ve talked about Frederic Remington and those primary colours that are used in his paintings defining the look and feel of the film."

Turning her attention to Rogue One, Kennedy confirmed what director Gareth Edwards has previously hinted at: the new movie will not feature one of the traditional opening crawls. "We felt that’s so indicative of what those saga films are,” Kennedy says. "Initially, we probably will begin the film in a way that is traditional, with just the title."
The Han Solo film, directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, will be out 25 May, 2018. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is due here on 15 December.
