trio of RTÉ presenters will take on their final 2FM shows today, having announced the impending exodus earlier this month.
RTÉ presenters Doireann Garrihy and the 2 Johnnies will share their final shows at 2FM later today.
After working with RTÉ for over five years, Garrihy will present her final show, 2FM Breakfast with Doireann, Donncha and Carl, from 6am to 9am, followed by the 2 Johnnies - who joined the station in 2022 - with Drive It with the Two Johnnies at 3pm to 6pm.
Station regular Jennifer Zamperelli, who has worked with RTÉ for over a decade, joined the newly dubbed “RTÉ 2FM exodus” last week, and is slated to be replaced by Laura Fox.
Despite the strong of high-profile departures, 2FM boss Dan Healy told Claire Byrne last week that it was “an exciting time” for the station.
Healy went on to deny the rumour that the four presenters left following the implementation of new rules regarding “external activities”, which dictates that all RTÉ workers must identify any potential conflicts of interest that may impede their performances as notional broadcasters.

In the announcement of her departure, Garrihy explained that she was ready for “ventures new” and was planning to focus more time on her podcast work, while the 2 Johnnies - composed of Johnny O’Brien and Johnny McMahon - said that their retirement was due to busy schedules.
“If we ever wanted our lives back, unfortunately radio was going to have to go,” the duo said on RTÉ Radio One last week, noting their host of commitments including podcasts and live shows.
RTÉ 2FM will announce the details of its summer schedule in the coming weeks.
