Domhnall Gleeson, Ciarán Hinds and Ruth Negga have all received invitations to become members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
This means that these stars can vote for Oscar nominees every year, along with the other 8,000+ members.
They join many other Irish stars who have been invited to join the AMPAS in the past include Saoirse Ronan, Cillian Murphy, Bono and Michael Fassbender among others.
Ruth Negga received an Oscar and Golden Globe nomination for her performance in ‘Loving’. Domhnall Gleeson is expected to be nominated next year for is performance as, AA Milne, the author of Winnie the Pooh, in ‘Goodbye Christopher Robin’, which is set to be released in October this year.

Other stars invited to join the 'Class of 2017' this year include Gal Gadot, Kristen Stewart, Chris Pratt, Margot Robbie, Channing Tatum and Riz Ahmed, among many other actors, directors and screenwriters.
