The National Library of Ireland’s LGBTI+ photo exhibition Living With Pride is a must see before the exhibition comes to a close on November 21st.
A number of events have been announced alongside the exhibition. The online events are free but require registration from attendees — available here.
The Living With Pride programme “explores Irish LGBTI+ identity and experience over the last several decades and into the present day.” It includes an exhibition by Christopher Robson at the National Photographic Archive, Temple Bar.
Robson’s work documents LGBTI+ life in Ireland during the ‘90s and early ‘00s as the community worked towards equality. After the exhibition ends on November 21st, it will be available online for free.
Living with Pride: Photographs by Christopher Robson is open from 10am–4pm, Monday to Saturday and 12pm–4pm on Sunday.

Acclaimed writer Mary Dorcey joins Living With Pride co-curator Tonie Walsh tomorrow evening (October 28th). The pair will discuss Dorcey’s work as an LGBTI+ and feminist activist, her explorations of sexuality in her writing and more. The event titled ‘Foundation myths & other stories’ kicks off at 7pm.
On November 25th at 2pm, a live online tour of Robson’s exhibition will give an insight into the photographer and his iconic pictures of protests, Pride and the LGBTI+ community in Ireland from the years 1992–2007.
The same evening, Philippa Ryder — Under The Rainbow Founder, and feminisit activist and former founding head of Women’s Studies at UCD, Ailbhe Smyth will speak at ‘That’s So Gay!’ which explores the lexicon & iconography of LGBTI+ life.
The National Library has posted Living With Pride events on YouTube including programme co-curator Bill Foley’s conversation with Aifric Ní Chríodáin about identity, representation and creative expression along with street artist Joe Caslin. Living With Pride is part of the National Library's year long run of LGBTI+ events.
