Since Tuesday, April 30, Drogheda Arts Festival has been showcasing a diverse range of talents by the banks of the Boyne, incorporating theatre, spoken word, music and more. Super Extra Bonus Party
Stay Up Late and Superglue Assembly Line have joined forces to present a form-shattering rehearsed reading of ‘Super Extra Bonus Party’, a piece of theatre which follows Jean, who is stuck in low and anxious times. Featuring cut-throat dialogue, live performance and cinematic projections, this extravagant piece of theatre exposes the cracks beneath our societies ‘woke’ culture. Roll Up Roll Up at St Dominic’s Park
Drogheda Arts Festival are bringing a new lease of life to St Dominic’s Park on the Bank Holiday Monday in this family-focussed day of fun, action, creativity and music. Visitors to this free event will get the chance to be amazed by Guido Fanzini’s Imaginarium of Entertainment, marvel at the Ballet Poulet, embrace the tradition of old-school games and even create their very own lantern with the Creative Spark team.
We Eat Electric Silence
Drogheda’s very own ‘ethereal down tempo pop collective’ We Eat Electric Light will be bringing a live performance like no other to the Living Room at Sarsfield on Monday. Taking you on a sensory journey of sound and vision, the collective will captivate you with their soaring vocals, electronic waveforms and unique visuals. Words & Wine
Spoken word is fast becoming one of the most exciting art forms in Ireland and this evening of words, wine, music and video will show you why. Miguel Suaña will tell seven stories inspired by the rich fertile La Rioja and Ribera vineros of Spain to Maro Borge’s live score that encompasses electronica, blues, Euskadi traditional, flamenco and French chançon.
