Dua Lipa now an honorary Ambassador of her birthplace, the Republic of Kosovo.
Pop star Dua Lipa, fresh from conquering the world on her Future Nostalgia Tour, has been named an Honorary Ambassador of Kosovo.
The London-raised artist was born in the Republic of Kosovo in the centre of the Balkans. The current president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, bestowed the Honorary Ambassador medal and certificate on the Grammy-winning 'New Rules' singer.
The written invitation heralded Dua Lipa saying: “Aside from being a world-class and a once-in-a-generation musician, you are also a role model for many girls and women across the world as a forthright and conscientious activist. But above all, what you have done for the people of Kosovo, in raising awareness of the Republic of Kosovo is unmatched and truly invaluable.”

She is using her incredible voice and talent, not only to offer the world songs that leave traces, but also to present the best image of Kosovo worldwide."
Dua Lipa is currently finishing her tour for her 2020 album Future Nostalgia. Over the weekend, the artist was joined by performers like J Balvin and Skepta for the Sunny Hill Festival in the Republic of Kosovo. The festival boasts being an "international music festival of the highest standards, one that puts Prishtina- Kosovo on the festival map as a not-to-be-missed cultural place, in a country that loves music and knows how to have fun."
