The duo will be on tour with a series of intimate live performances, inside a specially designed pop-up venue this summer.
Live music will be returning to parts of rural Ireland this summer, with pop-up venue 'We Use to Play Here' set to make an appearance in each province this summer.
Two of Ireland's most engaging instrumentalists - double bass player Caimin Gilmore and cellist Kate Ellis - will be taking their live music experience across the country from June until September.
The music duo have performed as a pair since commissioning composer Sam Perkin in 2019. They recently commissioned a further four works from leading Irish composers; set to be released on Ergodos Records in 2022. This tour will mark their first nationwide tour premiering a selection of the works.
Caimin and Kate will weave new music from Neil O’Connor, Amanda Feery and Sam Perkin interspersed with traditional melodies, creating one-off performances in each location.
Starting in the Raheen-a-cluig ruins overlooking stunning scenery on the slopes of Bray Head; the Dublin outfit will travel to the peaceful small villages of Monaghan, and from the wild splendour of Inishbofin and finishing their series in Cape Clear, bringing new compositions to local communities, and those who might usually have limited access to live performance.

Designed by Shane Sugrue of Unqualified Design, the venue is specially built for safe and socially distanced concerts, for audiences of up to 6 people. Cork artist Shane O’Driscoll designed the artwork which wraps around the unique venue.
We Used to Play Here takes place from 26 June until 1st September, with tickets currently on sale.
