Talkin' 'Bout A Revolution
Returning for another rotation, the Dún Laoghaire Vinyl Festival offers a myriad of treats to wax lovers this weekend, 1 - 3 November. The big headline act is a mostly reformed - Johnny Fean, Barry Devlin, and Jim Lockhart - Horslips, performing in the Pavilion Theatre on both the Friday (Nov 1st) and Saturday (Nov 2nd) nights. Are there any tickets left? Don't be daft, they're long gone. Curse your luck twice as desirable vinyl reprints of both The Táin (Dearg Doom!) and The Book of Invasions (Trouble!) will also be available for purchase at the shows.
Outside of The 'Lips, there's an awful lot more to keep you going - Cranberries man Noel Hogan, dub machine Jah Wobble in conversation with the great Roisin Dwyer, Leslie Dowdall and Flo McSweeney remembering the eighties, Tom Dunne discussing the magic of The Beatles' Abbey Road, and 'Tall' - he's not that bloody tall - Dan Hegarty hosting a round table about debut albums with Steve Wall (The Stunning), Ger Griffin (Rollerskate Skinny), Grainne Dee (Hostess), and Torsten Kinsella (God Is An Astronaut).
And come 'ere, there's more. Undertones Damian O'Neill and Michael Bradley talk life and music in the Derry of the 70's and 80's with author Geraldine Quigley, Kevin Godley and Richie Smyth look back at the importance of music video, and Hothouse Flower Liam ó Maonlaí performs songs from the band's debut album People, as well as recalling the record's genesis and impact with the world's most handsome and erudite music journalist.

I could go on all evening listing the attractions on offer but you'd be better off checking the festival's website for all the details.
