The expressive crew have come a long way since winning Battle of the Bands at Trinity back in 2018.
8-piece Dublin outfit Cooks But We're Chefs have shared the following up single to 'Resting On Laurels' in the form of jazz-infused track 'Kodama'.
Injecting clever, fast-paced wordplay into exciting chord progressions and brass instrumentals; 'Kodama' is full of uplifting swells and up-tempo vibrancy.
The single release follows the genre-blending band's impressive performance at Cork Jazz Festival over the weekend as part of The X Collective.
Their energetic live shows have earned them deserved praise, having delivered stellar slots at Electric Picnic, Body & Soul, Forbidden Fruit, Life Festival, Bray Jazz Festival, Stendhal and many more gigs over the years - including their a sold out show at Lost Lane.
Cooks But We're Chefs encapsulate elements of funk, hip-hop, jazz and soul within their soundscape. It's hard to put an exact label on them, which is presumably how they like it.
2020 saw the release of their brilliant 'Sports Day' EP, which showcased the insanely wide variety of sounds on offer. Each member brings their own influences to the music, creating an undeniably unique result.
