Ed Sheeran's collaboration with Denise Chaila is the newest remix of '2Step,' and is a part of his special, global remix recording project.
Ed Sheeran and Irish hip hop artist Denise Chaila have teamed up for a remix of his Equals hit, '2Step,' which is out now on Asylum/Atlantic records.
A beat-driven pop track, the remix builds on Sheeran's syncopated base — Chaila's melodic vocals and punchy verses adding a lofty element that weaves itself through punctuated drums. Whether matching Sheeran's voice through harmony or rapping along with the rhythmic guitar, she fits seamlessly into the song.
The collaboration comes after Chaila supported Sheeran on his Irish tour, performing to fans at Croke Park, Pairc Ui Chaoimh in Cork, Limerick's Thomond Park and Boucher Road Playing Fields in Belfast.
"I feel like I’m dreaming or sleepwalking. This is without question the biggest opportunity I’ve had in my career so far to grow my aspirations beyond the limits of my own expectations," she said about the track.
"Being asked to remix 2step was a dream, and being Ed’s support act was beautiful because mostly, it was him supporting me. Offering my voice to a song about pushing through difficulty to dance inside joy was, honestly, the perfect way to approach the immensity of what these opportunities mean to me. This has been affirming, emboldening and beautiful and I hope what I managed to do here feels good, and right and does justice to Ed’s heart for this song."
This is the thirteenth remix of '2Step' Sheeran has released, his first collab with Lil Baby being unveiled last month with a video filmed in Kyiv, Ukraine last year.

“I filmed the video for 2step in the city of Kyiv, Ukraine before the devastating acts of violence started to take place," said Sheeran.
"It was my first time visiting the country and I felt so welcomed during my stay there - everyone from the production crew to the many people I met across my days off. Ukraine is a proud and resilient country and I’m grateful to have had the chance to film my video there. I stand with Ukraine and will be donating my record royalties from YouTube streams of the video to the DEC’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal."
The English singer songwriter has revealed that he will be working with artists around the world for special remixes of '2Step,' fueling his love of collaboration. Sheeran is currently embarking on his Mathematics tour, which kicked off in Ireland in April.
