Today FM's popular 'rock and roll guru', Ed Smith, has taken to social media to announce that his time with the station – which he first joined in 1999 – "is coming to an end".
"After 25 life changing, craic having, friend finding and above all, radio making years, my time with Today FM is coming to an end," the presenter's online statement reads. "Shout out to the countless colleagues that endured and inspired me. They were, are and will forever be the heart and soul of it all.
"Most of all I want to thank the listeners," he continues. "Playing great people great songs is the greatest job in the world and to have had that luck and honour is a joy that will fill my heart forever. You were a gas and glorious crew and thank you again for letting me into your ears over all the years. I loved every mad and magnificent minute of it..."
