Big-name contributors join Eddie Vedder's late father on his new album, 'Earthling.'
Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has announced contributions from Ringo Starr, Elton John and Stevie Wonder on his upcoming album Earthling, set to be released on February 11.
In addition to the star-studded list of vocal features; Vedder's tour support band, 'The Earthlings,' will include Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, and Jane's Addiction bassist Chris Chaney.
These announcements come after Vedder's appearance on John's The Lockdown Sessions, and his September Ohana Fest set with Klinghoffer and Smith.
Another contributor includes Vedder's late father, born Edward Louis Severson, Jr.
Vedder worked with producer Andrew Wyatt to incorporate recordings of his largely-absent father, including it at the end of the album."We had Stevie and Elton, Ringo was an incredible addition," said Vedder in a recent interview with Mojo Magazine. "And then my pop gets to be on a record with those guys, which is not too shabby."

Vedder released his new song 'Brother the Cloud' last week, joining 'The Haves' and 'Long Way' as previewed singles.
In addiction to his solo work and Pearl Jam catalogue, the 57-year-old appeared as a guest vocalist in Temple of the Dog, the one-off tribute band dedicated to the late singer Andrew Wood.
