Alongside her music career, McEvoy is the chairperson for the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO), an organisation dedicated to promoting and sponsoring musicians and live music in Ireland.
Irish singer-songwriter Eleanor McEvoy has announced a rake of tour dates across the UK and Germany, as well as adding two new Irish dates to her bill.
McEvoy has been playing music since she was four, and graduated from Trinity College, Dublin with an Honours degree in music. The musician has long been an integral part of the Irish scene. Her song with Mary Black, 'Only a Woman's Heart,' is part of one of the best-selling albums in Irish history (A Woman's Heart). One year after its release, McEvoy shared her self-titled debut album, Eleanor McEvoy, in 1993.
In 2016, NAKED MUSIC: The Songbook was published by Hot Press. It documented the association and collaboration between painter Chris Collon and Eleanor McEvoy; the songs and the paintings they inspired, with text and interviews by Jackie Hayden.
Eleanor McEvoy co-wrote 'Dreaming of Leaving' with Lloyd Cole, which then inspired a painting by Chris Gollon of the same name. This painting in turn inspired McEvoy to write the song 'Gimme Some Wine'. McEvoy's latest LP, Gimme Some Wine, was released in October 2021.

"Her exceptional 16th album is conjured from a broad palette, with influences drawn from several genres within the folk-pop tradition, yet leavened with production values that make it very much of the moment," Hot Press' Jackie Hayden wrote in his review. "All told, this is McEvoy’s most consistent album in a long while, with every beat, word and note earning its keep. Indeed, Gimme Some Wine is the sort of thing that gives popular music a good name."
