Homegrown talent is more than represented in the first wave of announcements, including performances from Cork singer Lyra; Limerick rapper Denise Chaila; country queen CMAT; Dundalk shoegazers Just Mustard; 'atmosfolk duo' Saint Sister; and poet/producer For Those I Love.
Other names announced for the festival include cult noise-rap favourite JPEGMAFIA, Japanese/American rocker Rina Sawayama, rapper Little Simz and post-punk grouches Sleaford Mods, among a full line-up to be announced.
Making its Stradbally return is the Hot Press Chatroom, which will feature live interviews, acoustic performances and other surprises involving your favourite EP acts and Capel Street journalists. Down through the years our Chatroom sofas have been sat on by everyone from New Order, Gavin James, Garbage and The Roots to Mani, Bob Geldof, Public Enemy and Chvrches.
Who will be sinking into them this year will be revealed closer to the date!
A maximum crowd capacity of 70,000 daily mark one of the changes, confirming a long-mooted expansion of attendees and on-site accommodation. New stages this year include Fishtown, and Mind and Body, which replaces the Body and Soul area of the festival after its 2019 departure.
Stay tuned for more reaction to this morning's announcement.
Weekend Tickets include admission to the festival and camping on Friday September 2nd, Saturday September 3rd, and Sunday September 4th. A family pass includes one adult and two children aged 12 or under.
