To celebrate Kirwan's riotous Dublin Oldschool tenth birthday, the 3Olympia theatre has brought the beloved play back to the stage.
The play Dublin Oldschool, (which was later adapted into a film starring Kirwan himself), is set to return to the Dublin stage to commemorate its ten year anniversary.
The ten year anniversary return will see the play book out two dates in the 3Olympia theatre on the 4th & 5th of September 2024, in what will be Dublin Oldschool's biggest shows yet.
Telling the story of Jason – an aspiring DJ whose life revolves around ‘the session’, but who is stopped in his tracks by a chance encounter with his homeless, heroin-addicted brother Daniel (Ian Lloyd Anderson) after years without any contact, Dublin Oldschool is a sesh, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll yarn, that both has you in stitches laughing and rips your heart out.
The play premiered in 2014, after which it won the Best Fringe Performers Award at the Dublin Fringe Festival. Dublin Old School had two runs at the Project Arts Theatre, a run at the National Theatre in London, and has since been adapted into a 2018 feature film.
