R&B singer-songwriter and Dancing With The Stars Ireland alumnus Erica Cody will join forces with The Coronas frontman Danny O’Reilly to host RTÉ One's The Main Stage.

The new Friday night music show will feature live studio performances, interviews and general craic, celebrating a feast of Irish artists and unique collaborations from the worlds of rock, folk, trad and R&B.

The Main Stage will be a musical mash up with a modern twist featuring a mix of legendary acts as well as some of the hottest new talent on the Irish music scene.

RTÉ are giving the public a chance to be a part the audience, with applications now open here.

Announcing the news on The Tracy Clifford show on RTÉ 2FM, Danny said “we are really excited and delighted that we will be presenting a new music show on RTÉ this summer, it’s called The Main Stage”. The Coronas bandleader described the focus as “deadly Irish music, some international acts as well”

Erica Cody added: “Expect the unexpected, it’s going to be a lot of fun and a lot of surprises ”

Danny also teased the line-up and revealed that his own band and a renowned Irish musician will take part: “Gavin James will also do a special duet”.

The shows will be recorded on the following dates:

7th and 9th June
13th and 15th June
20th and 22nd June
