Pierce Brosnan, the star of films like James Bond and Mama Mia!, pleads not guilty to trespassing charges.
On November 1, 2023, Pierce Brosnan was charged with trespassing at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, U.S., as he allegedly walked out of bounds and into a restricted area. On January 4 he pleaded not guilty.
The actor was walking near Mammoth Hot Springs, a well known hot spring within the park. It is also known for its dangerously hot water in the spring, to the point of almost boiling, so there are uncompromising rules about trespassing in this area.
If Brosnan was walking here he would have also violated many closures that the park had put up by the Wyoming-Montana border. The actor is facing possible jail time, fines or potential banning from the park if he is found guilty.
His lawyer, Karl Knuchel, filed documents with the U.S. District Court of Wyoming stating that Brosnan would plead not guilty to the two charges on January 4.

The original date of the trial was set for January 23, however Brosnan requested a rescheduling of the hearing for a status conference. The U.S. magistrate judge rescheduled the hearing for February 20.
Between now and the hearing, the prosecuting attorney and the defense attorney will have a court-ordered meeting to exchange information on the case and potentially reach a resolution before stepping into court.
