A big 'thank you' to everybody who's told us about the impact Niall's music has had on them
We asked Niall Horan fans to tell us about the impact his music has had on their lives. The sheer volume of the replies confirms their extraordinary devotion. Clearly, his work in One Direction, and subsequently as a solo artist, has enthralled audiences. But it has also provided people with remarkable solace through difficult times.
"His lyrics and his voice have the power to put a smile on my face or calm me down when I need it the most," reflects Saloni Gupta." His lyrics and his voice have the power to put a smile on my face."
Adds Chloe Karis: "It's astounding what one person can do to someone they have never met, from influencing my fashion choices to empowering me to become more comfortable with who I am."
"Niall always takes time out from his day to give back; he communicates with his fans and makes them feel valued," notes Hanna Sommerstad.
Those are just brief tasters of why, along with fellow super-fans Tandra Smith, Laurie Chrobak, Niamh Strange, Linda Liepina and Symona Rice-Saunders, Katie Duffy, Galilea Melgar, Alaina Callahan, Sabrina Ragonese and 'Auli'i Silva, they've made it into print in the new Hot Press and have a large format, glossy photo version of Niall's cover winging its way to their home address.
Many thanks to them and the hundreds of other fans who sent in their thoughts – we'll be featuring more of them over the coming days on hotpress.com.
Pictured with the one glossy photo cover that hasn't been put into a cardboard poster tube is our man Stuart Clark who broke the news to Niall that he’s one of only four Irish artists to have topped the American album chart – his response being: “Fucking hell, I didn’t realise that… Jesus Christ, that’s some club to be in!”
In a fascinating fast-paced interview, the proud son of Mullingar talks about life after One Direction; the inspiration behind his new songs; letters from Bono; appearing on some of the biggest TV shows in the world; hanging out with the fashion elite in Paris; crying into his beer; missing home; and lots, lots more.
If you've ever wondered what Niall is really like beneath the designer Paul Smith threads, you'll find out in this unmissable Hot Press interview!
