Read some of the ex-Foul Play columnist/feature writer's greatest hits, including an excerpt from his debut novel All The People All The Time
With his debut novel, All The People All The Time, just published, Declan Lynch is our Featured Writer Of The Month. A regular contributor to the magazine from the late seventies, Declan went on to write one play, Massive Damages, and two books of satire and journalism, and become one of the country's best-known columnists with The Sunday Independent.
The pieces we chose from the Hot Press archive are:
- a hilarious encounter with reggae star Dennis Brown, wherein readers will learn how to use the phrase "batty boys" in a sentence (1997);
- a memorable report on a red-letter day in the history of Declan's home team, Athlone Town FC (1990) involving "million-dollar Italian superstar prats" or, as Declan also termed them, "the pizza men":

- and lastly, an extract from All The People, All The Time, his acclaimed debut novel, published by Townhouse/Simon & Schuster (2002).
