The short film directed, written, and starring Irish actress Laoisa Sexton, will be shown March 23rd at the Dingle International Film Festival.
Laoisa Sexton's directorial debut I Didn't... I Wasn't...I Amn't is an honest and darkly un-romantic comedy. Set in Dublin, it follows a lonely woman grappling with sex and danger as she falls for a smooth talking older man. The story of the film was adapted from Sexton's debut play For Love, which was produced Off-Broadway and received considerable acclaim including an esteemed NY Times Critic Pick. The 24-minute film was funded entirely through a crowdfunding campaign, with production taking place over only 5 days. It was shot by Irish cinematographer Trevor Murphy (Fairy Tale of New York, Poster Boys) and produced by Ten Thousand Hours Films. It features a talented cast of Irish actors, staring Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones, Peaky Blinders, The Wire), Neili Conroy (Damo & Ivor) and Sexton herself.
Laoisa Sexton has produced three Off-Broadway plays total with the legendary Irish Repertory Theater; The Last Days of Cleopatra was another recipient of a NY Times Critic's Pick. She is currently working on financing an upcoming short film based on her third play The Pigeon in The Taj Mahal.
I Didn't... I Wasn't...I Amn't will be shown at the Dingle International Film Festival on March 23rd @ 7:30pm as part of their Adults Only program. Tickets are available here.
