First Photo Released of The Crown's Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II
The actress will step into the role that brought Claire Foy a Golden Globe
Netflix series The Crown released their first image of their new queen, Olivia Colman.
The Broadchurch and The Night Manager actress will be taking over the role as Queen Elizabeth for the show's third series, following a time-jump from the early 60s to the late 70s.
Joining her as older incarnations of the show's characters include Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, and Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret.
Claire Foy, Vanessa Kirby and Matt Smith, who played Elizabeth, Margaret and Phillip in the first two seasons just were nominated for Emmy's for their work on the series.
This will not be the only upcoming performance from Colman as a royal figure. The actress will be playing Queen Anne in Yorgos Lanthimos' upcoming satire The Favourite.
While no footage is out for The Crown, check out the trailer for The Favourite below.
