The film will be Tarintino's tenth feature length directorial project and most recent since 2015's The Hateful Eight.
Details emerging this morning have revealed the basic plot synopsis of the movie,
“Set in Los Angeles in the summer of 1969, Tarantino’s upcoming movie, focuses on a male TV actor who’s had one hit series and is looking for a way to get into the film business”.
“His sidekick—who’s also his stunt double—is looking for the same thing. The horrific murder of Sharon Tate and four of her friends by Charles Manson’s cult of followers serves as a backdrop to the main story.”
On August 9, 1969, Sharon Tate and four others were murdered by members of the Manson Family in the home she shared with husband Roman Polanski.
At the time of her death, she was eight-and-a-half months pregnant with the couple's son.
The director has sought out Margot Robbie (who is also currently pregnant with her first child) for the role of Tate.
Tarintino has also discussed the possibility of a starring role with Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
The film is reportedly set to begin shooting in June next year, ahead of a proposed release in 2019.
