Dublin post-punk rockers Fontaines D.C. have announced their rescheduled Belfast date at the Custom House Square, set to take place on August 13, 2021.

The gig will take place outdoors, and will comply with Covid-19 restrictions and concert regulations.

The band will be supported by special guests at the Custom House Square, which will be announced in the near future.

The performances in Belfast and at Dublin's Iveagh Gardens on July 3 and 4, 2021 will follow an extensive UK tour, which kicks off at Edinburgh's Corn Exchange on May 1 and concludes at Alexandra Palace in London on May 27.

The tour is scheduled to support the release of their sophomore album, A Hero's Death, which was released at the of July and has achieved both critical acclaim and commercial chart success.

Will Russell of Hot Press offered the album high praise in his recent review:

"The fact that they executed album No.2 with such conviction, despite the mania surrounding them is remarkable. A masterclass," he wrote.

"It is an album that recklessly tears down the sheltering sky. It hacks the televised minds of a soul-sucked citizenry fed on a vomit of advertising platitudes. Reminiscent of The Clash, Fontaines D.C. have planted a defiant flag around which to rally. 'I was not born into this world, to do another man’s bidding,” sings Chatten, nor does he “want to belong to anyone'."

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Dublin band were forced to reschedule their Iveagh Gardens hometown show while their upcoming date in Cork has been cancelled.
