Tributes have poured in following the death of the young journalist and author, who died following a "short illness" according to BBC Scotland
Former RTÉ and BBC presenter Nick Sheridan has passed away at the age of 32.
The Wexford native presented RTÉ's children's news show News2Day before joining BBC Scotland in 2018, where he presented a variety of programmes.
Head of news at the Scottish broadcaster Gary Smith described Sheridan as a "wonderful colleague to those of us who have worked with him since he joined BBC Scotland in 2018."
"He was a hugely talented journalist, presenter and author - and one of those rare people who light up the lives of everyone around them. Funny, clever, kind. A lovely man.
"Our hearts go out to his parents, who have been with him over the past ten days, to his partner, Lewis, and to all the rest of his family and friends."

"So terribly sad to read this. It is truly awful," said former First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon on social media. "Nick was young, talented, vivacious, and full of potential. What a horrible, senseless loss. My thoughts are with his family, colleagues and many friends."
Sheridan eventually left his staff at the BBC to turn his attention towards writing children's books, continuing to appear as a freelance presenter on BBC Scotland's radio and TV shows.
