Ireland’s premiere folk music conference is returning for its 3rd annual edition.
The full schedule for Ireland’s folk conference Your Roots Are Showing has been announced. The event is set to take place from January 15-19 at the INEC Gleneagle, Killarney, Co. Kerry, and will feature 60+ industry leader speakers and panelists, 42+ essential workshop and panel discussions, and 90+ showcasing artists each evening, across four official showcase stages.
The conference is organised by the nonprofit dedicated to preserving and promoting folk music, with the event set to be an immersive experience that celebrates Irish and global folk traditions.
The five day conference will bring together artists, industry professionals, and folk music enthusiasts from across the world, and will feature live performances, interactive workshops, valuable networking opportunities, and professional development sessions.
Kicking off on Tuesday January 14 at 7pm, the opening event ‘Folk iN Fusion’ will showcase some of the most celebrated names in the genre, with live performances from Rhiannon Giddens, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Peter Rowan, Ron Block, Thomas Gabriel, Sandy Kelly, and many more.
The following days of the event will see an extensive programme hosted by a lineup of speakers, with each contributing unique expertise to the celebration of folk music.
There will be masterclasses with industry leaders like Ben Mandelson, Ron Block, and Lisa Schwartz, panels on topics like songwriting, workshops on sound therapy and DIY recording, keynotes sessions with Peter Rowan and Rhiannon Giddens, as well as special events, such as the Gig Fair and Song Suffragettes showcase.

The evening showcases will feature performances combining traditional and contemporary folk sounds, with notable acts such as Rodney Owl, Lorraine Nash, Patrick Stefan, The Henry Girls, Áine Tyrell, The Good Behaviours, Fiona Kennedy, Mark Lyndon, The 19th Street Band, Good Habits, Al Qahwa, Brídín, ADT, and Paddy Dennehy.
Showcases begin at 6:30pm each night and run across three stages.
The event will finish with a music trail through Killarney on Sunday.
