This Saturday, April 23rd, marks the 15th annual International Record Store Day. Golden Discs are celebrating with a brand new concept store in Dundrum called POP!
This weekend, Ireland's longest running music store chain, Golden Discs, will be celebrating International Record Store Day with amazing sales, special reissues, and the opening of a new store format dedicated to super fans called POP!.
The new store in Dundrum Town Centre will feature 2,000 square feet of posters, books, T-shirts, hoodies, bags, hats, and figurines from the worlds of Marvel, DC, Lucasfilm, and Harry Potter among others. The store will also carry officially licensed apparel and special collectibles from fast growing sub-genres like Manga and Anime.
"We're really excited about the first POP! store opening in Dundrum Town Centre," says Stephen Fitzgerald, CEO of Golden Discs. "We’ve seen a huge increase in demand for merch over the past few years and the time has come for a dedicated store to serve this growing market. For many, a pop culture product is a gift purchase but we are also meeting the demands of the super fans and devotees who are looking for the coolest fresh merch and must-have collectibles."
International Record Store Day 2022 will also be hitting Golden Discs in stores and online this weekend.
For fans of vinyl, Golden Discs branches in Dundrum Town Centre, Patrick’s Street in Cork, Eyre Square in Galway, and Jervis Street in Dublin are premier locations.
Golden Discs is offering a 20% discount for online purchases of all legacy Record Store Day releases for this week only. Record Store Day 2022 releases will also be available for purchase on Golden Discs webstore starting Sunday 24th April.

This year's Record Store Day Global Ambassador is none other than pop icon Taylor Swift. "The places where we go to browse and explore and discover music new and old have always been sacred to me," she explains. "Record stores are so important because they help to perpetuate and foster music-loving as a passion. They create settings for live events. They employ people who adore music thoroughly and purely."
This weekend at Golden Discs is sure to be an exciting time for fans of vinyl, film & TV, or simply for music lovers at large.
