Radio stations will be making their presence felt at Oxegen this year. Here’s what’s on offer.
2FM:
2FM’s coverage kicks off at 6am on Friday as The Colm and Jim-Jim Breakfast Show comes live from Punchestown. Then at 7pm Jenny Huston and Jenny Greene take over for a weekend of Oxegen’s finest music, acoustic sessions and interviews. They’ll also be recording all of the acts on the Irish IMRO New Sounds Stage, so look out for those in the future.
Today FM:
Paul McLoone will present two live shows from the festival on Saturday from 6.00-9.00pm and Sunday from 7.00-10.00pm. Aside from the latest news and interviews, Today FM will have exclusive live broadcasts from the Heineken Greeen Spheres Stage. This will include sets from Pet Shop Boys, Glasvegas, Manic Street Preachers and Fight Like Apes.
FM104:
FM104 will be on site bringing listeners interviews with the bands, talking to promoters MCD and getting feedback from the fans, seeing what they made of Oxegen 2009.
Phantom FM:
Dublin’s indie rock station will be broadcasting live from Punchestown from 1pm to 8pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They’ll be playing wall to wall Oxegen artists for the entire weekend. Tune in to hear band interviews, acoustic sessions, live festival reports as well as news and traffic updates. Phantom will also be hooking up with the Red Bull Academy Stage, with backstage reporters bringing you live interviews across the weekend.

Spin 103.8:
The Spin crew will be broadcasting live from Oxegen all weekend, kicking off on Thursday night. They’ll have guest interviews and live performances from some of the acts. They also intend to to revive their Oxegen game ‘Follow the Fiver’ – they give one punter €5 to spend and follow the note on its journey from pocket to cash register to pocket again and beyond for the entire day.
Beat 102-103:
Beat FM will be up to all manner of crazy antics. Darren Rice will be nabbing festival goers to play ‘Suss the Song’ on Friday morning while Liam Tutty sets off on a mission to get his picture taken with as many celebrities as possible. They’ll also be talking to fans from the South East to hear their thoughts on Oxegen ’09.
Spin South West:
Spin South West popped their Oxegen cherry just last year and couldn’t wait to return. They’ll be broadcasting for the entire weekend, meeting up with hot new acts like Passion Pit and Hockey. Tune in to hear those exclusive interviews.
