Some of the biggest cultural events in Ireland are reflected amongst the top searched terms on the search engine.
As 2023 draws to a close, Google has revealed this year's top searches in Ireland, including 'Oppenheimer', 'Sinéad O'Connor' and 'Coldplay'.
The search engine shared the top search terms across a range of categories, such as the most searched movies, TV programmes and people.
Beating out runners-up Sam Smith and Taylor Swift, Coldplay topped the list of most searched music artists in Ireland after they announced a massive run of shows in Dublin's Marlay Park for Summer 2024, their first return to Ireland since 2017.
Sinéad O'Connor was the most searched in the 'Losses' search category, in a year that saw many Irish music stars pass: Shane MacGowan and Christy Dignam were also among the top searched.

The top searched films of the year include Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer starring Irish actor Cillian Murphy, Greta Gerwig's Barbie and Banshees of Inisherin which was nominated for multiple Academy Awards early this year. The most searched TV programme was the acclaimed video game adaptation The Last of Us, followed by Ryan Reynolds' Welcome to Wrexham, the White Lotus and Kin.
Google search data was first revealed in August of this year when Ireland learned the top searches of last year: the two fastest rising queries in 2022 were Chat GPT, spelled with and without the space.
