The Gourmet Greenway Events Guide 2023 was launched last Friday evening (October 28th) in The Nephin Restaurant at Mulranny Park Hotel in Westport, Co. Mayo as guests enjoyed a nine course tasting menu, featuring the Gourmet Greenway producers.
Stretching 43km, the Gourmet Greenway is a food trail along the Great Western Greenway, which is a walking and cycling trail in Co. Mayo. The self-guided trail can be cycled, walked or driven and has been created by Mulranny Park Hotel to share Mayo's food stories and to highlight the county's range and quality of food.
Here, you can discover local cuisine, meet the producers, try unique dishes and take home a taste of Mayo when travelling along the Wild Atlantic Way.

During the launch last Friday, guests were served a wonderful menu by the restaurant's head chef Chamila Manawatta and his team.
The nine course meal featured Irish American Whiskey & Hibiscus Cured Clare Island Organic Salmon; Black Garlic & Miso Aioli; and Fermented Cucumber Wasabi Caviar, followed by a main course of Kelly’s Pork Fillet & Belly; Pork & Mulranny Seaweed Dumpling; Sinead’s Orchard Apple Curry; and Kimchi Sesame & Peanut Crust - brought to perfection with matching wines, paired by Janine Smink of Bodegas Salentein.
Returning for the first year following COVID-19, the Gourmet Greenway Events Guide offers something for all food lovers who visit Mayo in 2023 - from tasty food and guided tours to special events and showcase dinners.
What's on the menu for 2023?
Kicking off the year of food events is Kreme Gelato in Westport on World Gelato Day (March 24th), followed by Café Rua’s Wild Garlic Weekend, also in March, along with the highly anticipated Irish American Whiskey release of the First Single Malt Whiskey ever produced on an island.
