Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami will make its world premiere as the first documentary to be screened at this year's festival.
The new Irish documentary, Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami will have the honour of opening the documentary film section of this year's TIFF festival. Directed by groundbreaking filmmaker Sophie Fiennes, the film has been in the making for over a decade, with Fiennes beginning filming in 2005. Focusing her lens on the personal and artistic life of the iconic singer, Fiennes captures Jones' life with her family during a roadtrip through Jones' homeland of Jamaica, her dark past, and showcases exclusive performances of her classic songs, like "Slave To The Rhythm" and "Pull Up To The Bumper".
Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami will join a stellar lineup of Irish films to be screened at the festival, including The Breadwinner, directed by Nora Twomey and Mary Shelley, directed by Haifaa Al-Monsour.
