"We are here because dialogue, encampment, demonstrations among other methods after a 3 year long campaign did NOT lead the university to meet the demands," Thunberg said in a post to Instagram before her arrest this morning.
Danish police apprehended activist Greta Thunberg earlier today at a protest in Copenhagen against the war in Gaza, a spokesperson for the student group organising the demonstration said.
Six people were detained at the scene at the University of Copenhagen after 20 people blocked the entrance to a building and three entered, a police spokesperson told Reuters.
Police declined to confirm the identities of the other detainees but a spokesperson for the Students Against the Occupation said 21-year-old Thunberg was one of those held.
Thunberg shared images on Instagram of riot police entering a building where Students Against the Occupation were staging the protest, commenting that police had "violently entered the building with a ram wearing assault rifles".
"We are here because dialogue, encampment, demonstrations among other methods after a 3 year long campaign did NOT lead the university to meet the demands," she continued.

Students Against the Occupation said in a statement posted to Instagram that "while the situation in Palestine only gets worse, the University of Copenhagen continues cooperation with academic institutions in Israel."
