Glitterbox will kick off District 8’s D8 in the Garden summer festival series on July 29th.
Lauded Irish club brand District 8 is teaming up with Mother to curate the iconic Glitterbox event in Kildare this month, featuring a stellar lineup of diverse DJs and a set from Groove Armada.
Glitterbox started back in 2014, holding legendary status in the dance universe after its Hi Sunday residencies and one-day parties with former South London venue Printworks.
It's been a long time coming, organising the Irish debut of Glitterbox, but D8 IN THE GARDEN looks set to be an incredible day at Kildare's Palmerstown House.
The clubbing brand was all set to debut to Irish audiences back in 2020, though the event was unfortunately derailed by the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On July 29th, it's time to welcome a DJ set from the incredible Groove Armada, plus performances from Dave Lee, Mousse T., Natasha Diggs, Mother DJs, Kelly-Anne Byrne and a very special guest.

Featuring Andy Cato and Tom Findlay, the English duo have released nine studio albums since meeting in the mid-'90s, four of which have charted in the UK Albums Chart top 50. Groove Armada itself started as a series of nights across London, with the pair releasing 12’s for East London pioneer 'Tummy Touch' to promote the club nights.
An album made in a week, Northern Star, included the downbeat anthem 'At the River'. From that came major label recognition. Their first album on Jive, titled Vertigo, sold over a million copies and five albums followed on SONY and BMG garnering Grammy and Brit Nominations. In 2010, Findlay and Cato unveiled Black Light, an album which saw them fuse guitars and electronics. The band later set the record for the most sold out nights at the Brixton Academy.
Through decks&fx shows and a series of dancefloor EPs, Groove Armada have since marked a return to the DIY spirit of the warehouse turntables where the project first began. One of the planet's best-loved and biggest selling dance acts, Andy and Tom are as comfortable on the big stages as they are in sweat soaked basements.
Elsewhere, District 8 have more D8 IN THE GARDEN shows planned for August. The massive bill on Sunday, August 6th consists of some of the biggest names in dance music - Camelphat, Rebūke, Kerri Chandler, OBSKÜR, Jeremy Underground, GRL, EVE, Sarah Mooney and more.
Worldwide trailblazer Charlotte de Witte will also perform a D8 IN THE GARDEN set on Saturday, August 5th along with two massive co-headliners, the legendary Len Faki and French duo KAS:ST. And Irish Techno talent Cailín & Moduse.
