As the latest announcement in an exciting weekend of concerts through Guinness Cork Jazz, MOVE - Three Decades of House and Techno Clubbing Classics will take place on Sunday, October 29 at Cork City Hall. Cork clubbing legends Shane Johnson (Fish Go Deep) and Jamie Behan (Bastardo Electrico) will join forces to explore three decades of house and techno with one united purpose: to MOVE.
The clubbing duo will be joined by visual artist and designer Ant of Generic People, who promises to be an immersive, live visual element to the night at City Hall. Tickets for the MOVE event go on sale tomorrow, Friday, October 13 at 10.00am. The event is over 18s, with advance tickets starting at €22 plus booking fee.
This latest addition follows previously announced concerts at Cork City Hall from The Charlatans & Pillow Queens (Friday, October 27), Spandau Ballet’s Tony Hadley & Spring Break (Saturday, October 28), Jenny Greene (Saturday, October 28 - Late Night) and Mack Fleetwood (Sunday, October 29), all part of the always-anticipated Guinness Cork Jazz Festival.
Half of the duo Fish Go Deep, Shane Johnson initiated his musical career at Sir Henry’s house night, going on to play clubs and festivals around the globe. Creating infectious sounds since the late ‘90s, Johnson’s studio productions with Greg Dowling reached dancefloors and radio charts throughout the world. In 2005, the first single off Fish Go Deep’s debut album with Tracey K, The Cure and the Cause, was licensed by UK house giant, Defected, and became a huge club and chart hit. The time since has seen the Cork duo release two more albums, several EPs and countless house remixes. Their most recent release, the 2021 album This Bit of Earth, received praise and plays from influential DJs the likes of Laurent Garnier, Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, Osunlade, and Jimpster. Follow-up What I Mean By Beautiful is due for release at the end of this year.

Beloved in the Irish techno scene for over two decades now, Jamie Behan is widely pinned as one of the “godfathers of Cork techno.” With his long-standing club night and his label Bastardo Electrico, Behan’s sound crosses borders between techno, house, electro, and old-school rave. He has earned himself a renowned Berlin residency for the party series Killekill, played a long list of clubs and festivals around Europe, and released solo productions and collaborations. Behan’s latest releases include a collaboration with Diarmaid O'Meara on Gobsmacked Records, and further collaborations with DJ Flush under the ‘Cork Bangers’ alias on KilleKill and other labels, released in 2022.
