A new art expo, Klimt: The Immersive Experience, will open on the Northside of Dublin this July. Located off Kilmore Road in Artane, Dublin 5, the exhibition is a new way to enjoy the works of famous painter Gustav Klimt.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the Austrian artist’s masterpieces with a 360-degree digital show, inside a 20,000 square foot light and sound exhibit. See all of Klimt’s finest work brought to life, including ‘The Kiss’ and ‘Judith and the Head of Holofernes’.

Visitors can also experience a One-of-a-kind Virtual Reality component, where they get the chance to walk alongside Gustav Klimt. “A day in the life of an artist” is a 10-minute visual journey where spectators can learn the inspiration for some of Klimt’s most prized pieces.

Visitors will also get the chance to step into Klimt’s shoes, with the chance to make their own paintings, and have them projected on the wall.

Tickets to visit Klimt: The Immersive Experience are available to book now, with the first two weeks of the expo already sold out. Tickets start from €19, with family and group bundles available.

Last year saw the introduction of the Van Gogh Immersive Experience in the RDS in Dublin. The expo, bringing the work of famous Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh to life has been a huge success, with over 77,000 visitors so far. The exhibit is running for two more weeks.

Gustav Klimt is Austria’s most famous artist. He was one of the most prominent artists in Vienna’s secession movement in the late 1800s, as well as being a major influence on modernist painting.

His work’s primary subject matter was the female body, with Klimt’s use of bright colours, as well as materials such as gold leaf earning him his reputation. Klimt’s artwork is now some of the highest valued in the world, with his finest paintings valued at over $100 million.
