Keep an eye-out for these hot albums that have just been released and for some upcoming shows in November.
What better reason to form a band than a shared love of Pavement, Yo La Tengo, Sonic Youth, Flaming Lips, Fugazi and My Morning Jacket. Story Of Hair blew my socks off when I saw them supporting We Should Be Dead last year and the release of debut EP, The Ho! Ho! Ho! Stamp confirmed my suspicions that they are indeed an exhilarating sonic experience.
Consequently, I’m delighted to inform you, dear readers, that the band are now preparing for the release of their debut album, Cheap Rate, on October 30. The opus was recorded with Steve Shannon at Experimental Audio and features 14 sparkling new tracks of pop-inflected alternative rock.
There are a slew of live dates over the next few weeks so make sure to check hotpress.com for details.
Cork songstress Jennifer Clarke has been invited to join Michael Bolton as special guest for his upcoming shows at The Royal Albert Hall on October 27. Jennifer has spent the past four months in Nashville collaborating with the crème de la crème of the country song-writing world including the Grammy Award-winning Marcus Hummon (The Dixie Chicks, Rascal Flatts) and Emmy Award-winner Victoria Shaw (Trisha Yearwood, Faith Hill).
