When I was pregnant I kept a close eye on what Victoria Beckham was wearing. Her stylist would take whatever was high fashion on the catwalk and customise it, so that her bump was either hidden or emphasised. For example, she wears black during her pregnancies to make herself look slimmer, and when she is not pregnant, she wears white, or bright colours to show off her slim figure.
Before she had kids, Victoria was known for wearing skintight jeans, stilettos etc., and now that she has children she is wearing more comfortable clothes – combats, Caterpillar boots, and the like. It must be hard to be a mum in the spotlight, as people and the press are constantly waiting for you to slip up and wear something horrible!
Again I was really interested in what Natasha Hamilton of Atomic Kitten was wearing when I was pregnant. The great thing about Atomic Kitten’s style is that they shop on the high street, where kids can go in and buy exactly the same clothes. Natasha is versatile too – she likes little skirts and high heels, but also wears the combat look really well. It’s great that she doesn’t look too ‘mammy-ish’!

I take my ex-bandmate Graham (Cruz) shopping with me. He is great for picking out the right accessories to complete an outfit. My big fashion faux-pas was buying a UK£400 leather dress for an awards ceremony…it’s sitting in the back of the wardrobe now! Sometimes I think ‘£400, I could afford to buy two wardrobes’ worth of clothes with that!’
But, hey, we’re all entitled to make mistakes, aren’t we?
