The store's opening weekend will feature in-house performances from local artists, as well as a giveaway for the first 150 customers.
The doors of HMV Dublin are to be thrown open to the public this Friday, the retailer’s first new Irish store for over a decade.
Split over three floors, the new store, located on 18 Henry street, will stock over 15,000 products including over 5,000 vinyl albums and 5,500 CDs - making it the perfect destination for fans of music and pop culture in the capital.
The new Henry Street address will also mark the opening of the retailer’s first flagship outside of the UK, and the store will create 25 new part-time and full time jobs.
Store manager Paul Stevens said that the company are "thrilled to be back in the heart of Dublin".
“Nothing beats discovering new music and pop culture products by browsing in a store filled with expert, knowledgeable staff", said Stevens. "I can’t wait to start programming brilliant live entertainment and discover a new generation of acts.”

With a purpose-built performance space in-store, HMV Henry Street is expected to draw signings and performances from both established international artists and grassroots local bands through hmv’s Live&Local programme. So far, the programme has seen over 1,600 gigs performed this year in stores across the UK.
