Watch the new video in our collaborative My Irish Love Affair series below...
We're thrilled to present rapidly rising star 1k3, – who is currently producing some of the most thrilling hip-hop, R&B, Afroswing, drill and pop in the country – in our My Irish Love Affair series, in association with Guinness. In it, the rising star shares his love for his Drogheda hometown – talking with both insight and humour about the Louth town's unique appeal.
The series – which has already featured unforgettable contributions from Celaviedmai, Róisín O and God Knows – is a celebration of some of our all-time favourite things: great music, brilliant chats, and the hunt for the perfect pint. Across the series of videos, we sit down with a dazzling selection of Irish artists, who present their case for the best spot in Ireland for a Guinness.
At the heart of the series, which is tied in with the Lovely Day For A Guinness campaign, is an appreciation for the inspiring and diverse culture, history and beauty of Ireland – which tends to be on particularly fine display whenever the sun decides to shine.
Each artist in the series takes us straight to the heart of their selected city or town, whether it be their hometown, a spot imbued with happy memories, or an adopted home away from home. The videos offer a unique insight into what makes each artist tick – as they share their iconic reflections, impart some words of wisdom, and pay homage to the place that means so much to them.
Raised in a Nigerian household in Ireland, 1k3 has established himself as one of the country's most hotly-tipped emerging artists with his irresistible, genre-blending approach. In recent years, he's collaborated with some of the most authoritative forces in the Irish scene, including Andre Fazaz, Wendy Godfrey and A92's Ksav, Dbo and Nikz. Visuals are also a key aspect of his artistry – clocking up impressive views across his music videos, including over 100,000 views in the first week of the release of his powerful collaborative track with Andre Fazaz, 'Royal Bike'.
In June, he released his acclaimed latest single, 'Never Say', featuring Jallow.
