Catch the Belfast rock duo perform at Dublin city centre's Aloft rooftop on Wednesday, June 29th.
Fresh from supporting none other than the Black Eyed Peas in Galway last weekend, Dea Matrona have announced an intimate gig on the top floor of Aloft Dublin City Hotel.
On June 29th, the band will set the Aloft rooftop on fire, surrounded by a modern aesthetic and gorgeous cocktails. It's the perfect band for such an electric setting, with limited tickets available for the show.
Having also shared the stage with fellow Belfast musician Van Morrison and The Eagles, as well as performing their own headline tours, Dea Matrona are blazing a trail.
Blending grungy instrumentals with riot grrrl-esque vocals, the pair bring the nostalgic sounds of the 90s garage-rock scene into the modern era. Punchy, unapologetic and passionate, the group is leading the charge of rock-revival with a catalogue of undeniably addicting tracks.
Made up of school friends Mollie McGinn and Orlaith Forsythe; the group rose to prominence after recording a cover of 'Oh Well' by Fleetwood Mac, which has garnered over a million views on YouTube.
Since, they have released their debut EP Away From the Tide in 2019, and have shared four singles — with 'Make You My Star' claiming the No. 1 spot on both UK and Irish iTunes Rock Charts. They were voted 'Most Promising Act' in the Hot Press 2021 Readers Poll, and graced the stage of the RTÉ Late Late Show in March of last year.
The '70s rockers shared their latest single, 'Glory Glory (I Am Free)', on February 25th. The track includes the pair's version of Simon and Garfunkel's 'Homeward Bound'.
"We’re so happy to be performing at Aloft with Hot Press,' Mollie McGinn says of the news. "We have been touring since the end of April and it’s been so much fun on the road. We look forward to our return to Dublin to perform an intimate set before we head over to Belgium to play Rock Werchter with lots of our favourite bands!"
Dea Matrona will perform on Wednesday, June 29th on the Aloft top floor, following a brilliant performance by Lea Heart.
