Hozier will announce further Ireland, UK & European dates on September 17. New music is also on the way from him in September, as the build-up to the release of his second album takes shape.
Hozier's debut single 'Take Me To Church' was released in 2013. It became one of the best-selling and most viewed singles of the past five years, going six times platinum in the US, and eight times platinum in Canada, as well as reaching No.1 and No.2 in at least ten territories across the world. The YouTube video of 'Take Me To Church' has been viewed over 225 million times – and rising.
His self-titled debut album, on which 'Take Me To Church' also appeared, was released in September 2014, and went to No.1 in Ireland, as well as No.2 in the US Hot 100 and No.3 in the UK. 'Take Me To Church' was named the BBC Song of the Year in 2015. That same year, he picked up the gongs for Top Rock Artist and Top Rock Song at the Billboard Music Awards. In November 2015, he won the VH1 Artist of the Year, based on public votes. He was joined on stage to sing 'Take Me To Church' by Eurythmics legend Annie Lennox at the Grammies. However, that was a trophy which eluded him – on that occasion!
