The ‘Stand 4 Truth’ rally will clash with the Pope's mass in Dublin.
Thousands of people are expected to attend a ‘Stand 4 Truth’ rally in support of those “who have been harmed or abused by the Catholic Church”. The rally is being held in response to Pope Francis’ upcoming visit on the 26th August.
Organised by Executive Director of Amnesty Ireland and abuse survivor Colm O’Gorman, the rally will take place in the Garden of Remembrance in Parnell Square on Sunday at 3pm – the same time as the papal mass in Phoenix Park.
Hozier will be joining artists including Róisín O from the band Thanks Brother, Liam Ó’Maonlaí, and Mary Black along with spoken word performances from poet Sarah Clancy and Grace Dyas.
More than 8,000 people have already said they are interested in attending the march via the event’s Facebook page.
