Louise O'Neill will present the documentary, which will examine our attitudes to consent and the rise of sexual assaults in Ireland.
Author Louise O'Neill - who wrote a novel also entitled Asking For It - will host the documentary, which will look at how young Irish men and women view the issue of consent in 2016.
O'Neill's novel tackled the complexities around sexual consent and the clash between traditional Irish attitudes to rape and the modern world of social media.
In tonight's documentary, to be shown on RTÉ2 at 9.30pm, O'Neill looks at how 4 out of every 10 Irish women become the victims of sexual assault in their lifetimes and shows why we need to talk about consent.
She will listen to a diverse range of opinions throughout the documentary, such as those of Senator Lynn Ruane, the former student union president of Trinity College Dublin who has written openly about her own sexual experiences.
