Tickets for IDLES' May 29th gig at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham go on sale this Wednesday at 10am.
Bristol-formed rockers IDLES have cancelled their trio of Vicar Street gigs as a result of the restrictions facing the Irish live music industry. Fear now, however. The British-Irish outfit have announced a replacement show on May 29th, 2022 at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham.
"IMPORTANT 2022 TOUR UPDATE - PLEASE READ & SHARE," IDLES posted this morning. "Due to regulations set in Ireland, and the continued uncertainty there, we have had to cancel our 3 shows in @vicar_st in January. All is not lost though as we can announce that we have a new show at @rhk_venue in Dublin on May 29th, 2022.
"Ticketmaster will contact ticket holders for the Vicar Street concerts to issue a refund and offer a pre-sale link to the new date on May 29th."
Tickets for the RHK gig will go on general sale this Wednesday 15 December at 10am GMT.

Joe Talbot, Mark Bowen, Lee Kiernan, Adam Devonshire and Jon Beavis came together in 2009, performing for a number of years before releasing debut album Brutalism in 2017. The band's first release was the Welcome EP in 2012. The band had released a second EP, Meat, which saw them embrace a much harder-edged direction from their early work, and remix EP Meta in 2015. Following this, IDLES then began writing songs for their debut album.
Both their original LP and sophomore album Joy as an Act of Resistance (2018) earned them critical acclaim. Third album, Ultra Mono, was released in September 2020 before fourth album Crawler landed 12 November 2021. Both were lauded by fans and critics alike. Hot Press' Will Russell wrote:
"None of the attempts to classify IDLES in terms of social class really comprehend them. Obsessing over that aspect overlooks a band who remain regimented, whilst distorting their own identity. Here eagerness of lyric is audaciously smeared with demented accompaniment, and perversely with more stress on melody. It’s a surprise and a relief when singer Joe Talbot wraps the record, groaning 'In spite of it all/ Life is beautiful'."
