Aoibhin McGinnity, who famously played Nidge's wife in Love/Hate, has spoken about how "dark" Conor McPherson's script is for the three-part TV series Paula. Paula is airing on RTÉ One and BBC Two at the moment, with the last episode hitting our screens on 8 June.
"It's really dark and everybody's pretty troubled in it. That's why I liked it. It's not a fairytale!" she says. "I remember reading the script last summer, out the back garden, and it just terrified me.
"It just grew darker as I was finishing act three. Number one: this is serious. Number two: I'm actually a wee bit scared. I really wanted to do it. I think it's amazing."
The story is about a teacher played by Denise Gough whose life spirals out of control following a one-night stand. Also starring Tom Hughes and Owen McDonnell.
