The new film aims to reunite the cast of the 2008 film ten years later.
Back in 2008, the Broadway hit Mamma Mia was brought to the silver screen by the great Meryl Streep along with Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, and Stellan Skarsgård. Now, Universal is hoping to reunite the cast of the film for Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again. No news on whether everyone will be back, but replacing some cast members wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea (he may be James Bond, but singing isn't necessarily Pierce Brosnan's strong suit) though we're hoping at least Meryl will be back for the new film next year.
The soundtrack will feature Abba tunes not showcased in the Broadway original, with a release date of July 20, 2018, almost ten years to the day since the first film was released. Stay tuned for more info.
