The face of RTE’s Nine O’Clock News breaks down her favourite spots around the city, whether it’s where to grab a bite (“a domestic goddess I ain’t!”) or the best place to catch the latest show- “Dublin’s theatre offerings are so impressive."
She also takes time to reflect on Dublin and what makes the capital so wonderful: “when it comes to cities, small is beautiful in my world."
Ní Bheoláin also tells Hot Press about her career which has spanned over two decades, and chronicles her journey from Radió na Life to presenting the Nine O’Clock News, including her recent departure from co-anchoring Six:One. “I’m a lot happier now, I was pretty unhappy for a long time,” she admits to Roisin O’Dwyer. She discusses the challenges she faces in her new position: “when you’re working in live TV, you have to be on the ball, ready to deal with anything.”
Ní Bheoláin also details her ideal night out, laughingly admitting that “I’m a bit long in the tooth for knocking back Bacardi Breezers in the boozer!” noting that she prefers concerts and live shows, highlighting Bell X1 and The Frames among others.
