Interpol’s first full-length since 2018's 'Marauder' arrives in July via Matador.
Interpol have announced their new album The Other Side of Make-Believe, which is due to land on July 15 via Matador.
The Manhattan outfit are previewing the record with lead single 'Toni' and an accompanying music video directed by Van Alpert.
“I wrote a crazy idea that I felt was new for Interpol: a hyper-modern, cinematic dance film. A ‘Lover’s on the Run’ story with a classic cliff-hanger ending,” Alpert said of his music video in a statement. “Paul Banks ties everything together and elevated the concept, because he’s naturally a great actor, artist, and collaborator.”
The New Yorkers worked on their new album in London with Alan Moulder and Flood. The Other Side of Make-Believe is Interpol’s seventh studio album and the follow-up to 2018’s Marauder. Later this month, the band will kick off an extensive run of concerts, including a co-headlining tour with Spoon.

Having first performed at Luna Lounge alongside contemporaries the Strokes, Longwave, the National, and Stellastarr; Interpol are also associated with the New York indie music scene and one of several groups that emerged from the post-punk revival of the 2000s.
Interpol's debut album Turn On the Bright Lights was released in 2002 to critical acclaim, followed by Antics (2004) and Our Love to Admire in 2007. Their self-titled fourth album arrived in September 2010, before the outfit went on hiatus while they focused on other projects.
Their fifth studio album, El Pintor, was released in September 2014, while sixth studio album, Marauder, was shared with fans on August 2018. Their second and third LPs garnered Interpol both commercial and critical success.
Formed in 1997, Interpol's original line-up consisted of Paul Banks (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Daniel Kessler (lead guitar, backing vocals), Carlos Dengler (bass guitar, keyboards), and Greg Drudy (drums). Drudy left the band in 2000 and was replaced by Sam Fogarino. Dengler left to pursue other projects in 2010, with Banks taking on the additional role of bassist.
